New Fine Art Book Project Celebrates the Cats of the Pacific Northwest to Raise Funds for Local Rescue

“The Fine Art Feline” merges museum-quality pet photography with philanthropy, donating registration fees and 100% of book proceeds to Seattle Area Feline Rescue.

KIRKLAND, WA – Olive & Fable has officially announced the launch of The Fine Art Feline, a curated, large-format coffee table book designed to honor the beauty, individuality, and quiet power of Pacific Northwest cats. The project, which is currently accepting applications for its first edition, doubles as a charitable fundraiser, dedicating its proceeds to helping local rescue cats find their forever homes.

The Fine Art Feline is not a typical pet photography initiative. It is an intentional, fine-art experience centered on legacy and storytelling, transforming ordinary pet portraits into timeless, painterly artwork. To maintain an intimate and exclusive collection, only 25 spots are available for this limited edition.

“Cats move through the world with a presence that feels both untouchable and deeply familiar,” said the creators at Olive & Fable. “They are often misunderstood and rarely given the space to be seen as they truly are. This project exists to change that, elevating their presence into fine art-just as their owners see them every day.”

Investment and Charitable Impact Participation in the project requires a $150 registration fee. Demonstrating a deep commitment to animal welfare, Olive & Fable will donate 50% of all registration fees and 100% of all book sale proceeds directly to Seattle Area Feline Rescue (SAFR). These funds will directly support the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of vulnerable cats across the region.

The Fine Art Feline Experience
Selected participants will take part in a customized, three-step process hosted at Olive & Fable’s downtown Kirkland studio:

  • Planning Conversation: A story-focused consultation to understand the cat’s personality, quirks, history, and comfort levels.
  • Fine Art Portrait Session: An unrushed, guided studio session prioritizes the cat’s comfort and dignity over forced poses, utilizing specialized lighting to create museum-quality portraits.
  • Reveal & Story Review: A private appointment where owners view their portraits and review the written story that will accompany their cat in a dedicated two-page spread.

While the $150 registration fee secures a spot in the heirloom book, participating families frequently choose to upgrade to custom wall art, portrait boxes, and digital collections, with typical investments ranging between $750 and $2,500.

How to Apply
Applications are now open for cats of all ages, temperaments, and backgrounds. Olive & Fable is seeking cats with “presence”-whether they are bold, reserved, playful, or contemplative.

Upon completion of all portrait sessions, one exceptional cat will be thoughtfully selected to serve as the cover model for the book.

Cat owners interested in securing one of the 25 exclusive spots to honor their companion and support local rescue efforts can apply directly at www.oliveandfable.com/fineartfeline.
